Velodrome

ISG InteriorExterior are the first live site to use Priority1+ on a construction project, currently using 1 handheld which they intend to increase to 4 as the project progresses.

ISG beat off stiff competition from Carillion and FCC to win the £80m contract to build the 6000 seat Velodrome that will host indoor track cycling events. It will also include the delivery of a BMX track and legacy conversion costs to turn it into a road cycle circuit and mountain bike course.

Stadium

The brief for the project is to create a spectacular 80,000 seat Stadium to host track and field events and the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. After the Games the Stadium will reduce to 25,000 seats but retain the capacity to host a variety of sporting, educational, cultural and community events with athletics as its core use.

Sir Robert McAlpine, the main contractors for the project, are using Priority1 to manage snags and outstanding works throughout the completion of the build.

Nido Spitalfields

ISG InteriorExterior have been awarded a £100 million project to construct Nido Spitalfields, a new-build 33-storey student accommodation development in London. The mixed-use scheme has been developed by Nido Student Living, a specialist student accommodation firm. The project is scheduled for completion by late summer 2010.

The team will use PDA’s to capture on-site tasks during the project.

Cressex Community School

BAM has won this BSF project to replace the current Cressex Community School. The new school will provide an 1,100-place secondary school with a Business and Enterprise specialist status. The building’s form is compact with three curriculum wings radiating from a central courtyard space. A fourth block accommodates the sports, assembly hall and main curriculum and social spaces.

The team knows Priority1 from a previous project (using Palm devices – things have moved on a bit since then!). They were keen to manage everything themselves and have been trained to set up and maintain the project as well as record snags.
